Mushaad-grade is the purest and highest grade of Frereana while also being the hardest grade to come across. Mushaad means 'big' in Arabic, and pieces longer than approx. 2-3 inches are classified as mushaad. Freshly harvested pieces can be up to a foot long.

Boswellia Frereana is Native to the Somali Puntland and the Somaliland highlands, it is their pride and joy. In Somalia and neighbouring countries, it is called Maydi and considered the King of all Frankincenses. The fragrance of Boswellia Frereana is a sweet, warm and woody amber scent highlighted by honey and notes of lemon.
